A Journey Through Staverton Thicks

I’m pleased to present my latest collection of paintings, influenced by the enchanting charm of Staverton Thicks in Suffolk. In February 2023, I embarked on a journey to this ancient oak woodland, which is home to some of the largest Holly trees in Europe. The atmosphere of Staverton Thicks left a lasting impression on me, leading to the creation of these paintings.

In the above photo, you can see the collection of eight paintings. The bottom five paintings serve as an initial response to the captivating beauty of this place. The three paintings at the top of the photo were specifically created for upcoming exhibitions later in the year. These works continue to explore the theme of nature’s beauty.

I’m eager to share these creations with you and hope that they will inspire you to appreciate the wonder of nature that surrounds us. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this collection.

  1. The latest work of Paul Finn offers a patternless drama of nature . his work always characterised by mystery, especially his ongoing series of seasonal palette. I was amazed by the way he created multiple scenes by using harmonies from different colours. Still not sure which one I admire the most, small sized ones or the large!
